When I saw this editorial from the fabulous Danish magazine Cover – my heart leapt.
Firstly, the return of the fabulously feline Louise Pedersen to glossy fashion pages. Secondly, is the incredible styling which made me think of that great British eccentric, Nancy Cunard with her turbans and African fetishism (ie. animal prints and clunky, heavy jewellery). But one must also give Mr Sjodin kudos for the fierce photography which reminds me so much of Richard Avedon’s work for US Vogue during the ’70’s.

Workwear is always a difficult sartorial problem to navigate. Unless you work in the fashion/music industry where anything goes, us lesser mortals that have to face the Office have to dress appropriately (read, conform to the norm, read boring!)
But then I caught a glimpse of Ashley Olsen in US Vogue September 2008 issue wearing a beautiful suit made by her line The Row, looking subtly sexy and oh-so-refined. The cut is brilliant, with slightly exaggerated shoulders and nipped in waist. I especially love the arm length, I have such a penchant for rolling up the sleeves on all my jackets! The suit may cost a bomb but it will pay dividends when it comes to drawing the attention of that cute guy up in Marketing.
